Very Helpful.

For most chicken keepers there comes a time when you need to administer medication, or tube feed a chicken.
It is incredibly easy to squirt liquid into a chickens lung if you are not aware of the chickens physiology. The pictures and text in this article show exactly where food and medication should go. For some medications it is important that the correct dose is given and mixing with food or water just isn’t an option. This article should help give the reader the confidence to make sure the correct dose does get given.

There is something about pictures of free range chickens taken in their living environment that ticks all the boxes for me. Some of these pictures have all the right ingredients imo.
I know there are loads of pics in the media section but I don’t tend to wade through them. Lots seem to be of rugrats and imo a baby chick beats a hairless baby for looks every time.

I thought this was a very good article. So many questions on the boards as winter approaches and most could be answered by reading this.
Despite the length of the article I didn’t find my attention wandered so I think it’s well written. I’ve got comparatively few articles in my must read list and this is going to join them.

And I thought I was the only person that did this.:)
Here it gets quite warm and I have to remember to wet the composting soil once in a while but otherwise the system works fine.

That's a great picture. it's so hard to believe how small the bird is.
We get gold crests here which are small but not that small.
Take some more pictures and post them here. I'll look at them.:)

I’m not a broody coop fan. I much prefer to let a hen do what they’ve been doing for centuries.
This article had some very good advice. It’s got balance and is well written.

I cook every day and I hate it.:barnie
I’ve made something like this before but didn’t know it had a name.
Lots of recipes here for sweet things but this is proper food. I’ll just have to see if I can squeeze a few eggs out of the still laying chickens and give this a try.:)
I have no idea if these recipes work. As the author states, there has been little research done in such areas. I can’t see how the ingredients in these recipes can harm a chicken and they may be beneficial in other areas even if they don’t act as a preventative measure against worms.
I liked this article. The author states quite clearly that this won’t cure worms. I may just try these recipes out.

I really enjoyed reading this. It doesn't get bogged down in the science and the narrative kept me reading. Good pics.

This is a good article. It's well written informative and I like the references.
It would have been good to mention a little more on how coop hygine can reduce the levels but overall I liked this a lot.

Some good advice in the first part and a decent overview of what motivates a rooster.
I don't agree with the how to handle problem roosters though.
