Checking-In On Peeps - Post Here To Say Hello!

Have 4 giant pekins driving me crazy. They are just so dumb. Laying a ton of eggs but not with the system. Won't go in coop, Auto closing door, at night. Won't even go in the pen around the coop. Have to chase them in and do everything but walk thru gate. Omg. Frustrating. May be time to sell.

my chickens are still eating their eggs

Try introducing a new rooster or hen. Mix things up a bit.

Grass nearly all gone, now what?

Leave in pen while grass recovers. Think of all the bugs you don't have now. Lol

    Kitten vs chickens 🙄

Baby duck sooo cute. My other cats could care less about chickens. Its just one rescue my daughter brought home. Black with white paws. It's rotten.

    HELP!!! Extremely noisy chickens!

Mine are free range on there own acre and still announce there eggs. Pretty far from house so not an issue. More room with grass, bugs and a dust bath spot would be better then lock up at night if predators an issue.

    Should I get a goose?

Put rope or string over top of area. Have a friend that uses flags on poles. String is cheap and hawks won't fly down.

Traumatized by dog, left with a wonky tail.

I got tired of dealing with it at 2am so this may sound terrible but I let my dog deal with it now.

Traumatized by dog, left with a wonky tail.

I did get one that week. I hear they are good for eating ticks but don't want them by my girls.

    Dealing with Opossums and chickens

They are supposed to be huge tick eaters and no I am not putting them anywhere someone else's house. I am very rural and put them more rural. Almost got stuck last time.

    Is This The Truth?

French fries ok. Long list but basically correct. Some are very bad for them like chocolate and a few are choking/bad for crop. They generally won't eat what is bad if free range but avoid chocolate and night shade plants.

    Dealing with Opossums and chickens

U.s. hawks are protected. Possums are not. Try a live cage if u can. I take the lazy way sometimes and send in the ridgeback

    Kitten vs chickens 🙄

Have a kitten chasing my chickens daily now. They are in a half acre open coop set up. Chickens are starting to peck at him but he persists. In the past I held a rooster and when the cat went for it the cat got pecked and that was the end of that. But this kitten thinks it a game.
