    Starting Out with Pheasantsl.

Well, i don't know which species of pheasant nor where you live. There may be laws in your area that don't allow this, so you may need to look into that. Also, if you wanted to have any pheasant survive, you would have to release a very large number as most will be wiped out by predation and...

What do we have? Red Golden, Dark Throated, Lady Amherst, a mix or throwback?????

Yes she could keep breeding her pheasants to create more but that still leaves the problem of introducing new blood. The problem with inbreeding is that it usually leads to infertility, reduced resistance to disease, and genetic and physical issues. Inbreeding can cause certain desirable traits...

Will Hawks Attack With Someone Right There?

yes they will. turned my back for a minute and a hawk tried creeping into my coop. between me and my roo we managed to chase him off. also, had one literally buzz my head going after one of my girls. once they get locked onto prey the seem to block everything else out.

    Quail and chickens

I wouldnt suggest it. quail can catch a number of nasty bugs from chickens that are almost harmless to chickens. chickens would also be to aggressive and bully if not eat the quail. and no they dont eat the same thing . quail need alot more protein in their diet.

5 months no egg. do i have four males? PICS

It looks to me like like the first two are males the third is most likely male and the last is likely female. 5 months is a long time to not be laying eggs, but that might be due to the time of year. cots need At Least 12-14 hours of light to lay. If they are not, you could set up a lighting...

What age do hens go broody?

Some breeds have a higher tendency towards going broody than others. My little cochin bantam went broody and hatched me some chicks about a month after starting lay while my other girls have given it a thought. I dont know if season comes into play or not, my girl went broody in october. Then...

    Just a few quail questions...

Im no expert by any means but ive kept cots before and can offer some help. No the girls dont need a roo to lay. Average size is a couple inches long and 6-8 ounces for the regular sized variety. The eggs are about an inch long give or take. As a whole they're not noisy. Females will make small...

    Wolf

Honestly, I doubt the'll have much interest in your chickens. Best bet would make sure the coop/run is secure, maybe run some electric fencing along the outside. It also wouldn't hurt to invest in some guard dogs/animals.
