    Silkie - Is this normal...?

    I had a rooster that was attacked by a dog, and was injured around the base of the neck. When he would eat food he would move his head around left to right, just like you described. Could it be something wrong with or lodged in the silkies crop?

    Yes the thermostat works. I set it on the stove and heard it snap off, and i now rewired the ports i have the wires going into.     I have a 240v water heater thermostat, i thought that it could run fine on 120v. Either that is the problem,or i have no clue how to wire a light onto a thermostat . the hot leg from the outlet into port of the the thermostat. From there it goes into the light bulb. The neutral goes straight...

    Can anyone identify this huge bird??

    It is a black buzzard/vulture. They are commonly known here in texas to peck the eyes off of newborn calfs if the cow isnt around, costing ranchers precious calfs. They fly really low over my chickens also, so just always be on the lookout.

    Shooting at night can be very difficult especially using a rifle. I would reccomend a shotgun for a greater chance of killing the predator in lowlight conditions.

    Recently i purchased two chickens. The lady i bought them from says they were born sometime in january, and should start laying soon. I know they are mutts but i just want to know what breeds are possibly in them and age.
