she is an anacona.
I have been letting the one who is being aggressed on out and leaving the rest in the coop/run. I'll see if doing that works for a while and if not I'll have to just quarantine the anacona. I'll check out the link- thanks.

Hello:
I have a hen who hatched some eggs in early July. I have 3 other hens in the flock. We kept two of the hens that broody hatched, they are now pullets (we recently gave the other pullets away.)
The mama hen has become VERY aggressive against one of the other hens in the flock. She...
Ran out of duck food last night, the feed store is closed today and I thought my duck hens would eat laying krackettes (chicken food.) They are not going for it - they want their all-purpose pellets!!! What can I do in meantime? I had no idea they were such fickle eaters!! Anything I can give...
I think two are barred rocks, one male and one female. One has a smaller white dot on head and black stripes on legs....female?
One is black with some brownish "gloss" on wings. White spot on underside. Have no idea what this one is.
2 brown ones are araucanas, right? Or all three? One...
Hello:
I'm sure there has been many a post about this and if there is a link you can send me to that would be just fine!
I have 6 3-week old chicks that I am not even sure the breed of since they were hatched from fertile eggs I put under my broody.

oh thank you iamcuriositycat.
your post was exactly what I needed and what was hoping and waiting for. I am happy to know what the head gesture is.
I put a small pool in their coop with plenty of food and I will keep them in there several days.
They are very very loud whenever I go over...
I have been posting here a lot recently.
Looong story short: I had 2 Pekin drakes and a Cayuga female and I needed to get rid of one drake-(two of them were" too much" with the female, if you know what I mean.) I found someone who would take him, but this person had no other ducks so I bought...
Tell me the best scenario:
2 females with 1 male OR three females. I don't want to breed so that doesn't need to be part of the equation. I don't have room for more than three ducks.
I currently have three males to one female and it was causing problems so I have now found a new home for 1...
Today I let my 5 week old hens free range with the big girls. The young ones walked into the established girl's coop at one point and the big girls followed them in but were not irritated in the least. They didn't even do so much as give them a second glance. In fact, one of the 5 weekers...
Ok...after finding out that ofmy three ducks, two are male and one is female...and being told this is bad news, I just found another good home for the female.
But now I am being told that leaving myself with two males is just as bad because they will try and kill each other!
Please can someone...
