I'm amazed at the need to jump through hoops about an issue like this.
I'm not saying you should drag your child and his favorite hen out to the shed and have at it, but you can talk to your child on a serious basis about eating and things living or dying. If you can't talk about something...
If you are a vegan, that's one thing. If you and your family eat meat, you should definitely go through the whole process with him including cleaning, preparing and eating. He'll be way ahead for it when he runs into other kids who don't know where their food comes from. I'm positive that if...
You might already know this, but there are many sides to being a warden. I've known many wardens, from California to Montana, New York, Oregon and some with the USFWS, and my background is in fisheries biology where you meet quite a few. In many states, budget cuts have really hampered the...
I'm not sure of his attention level, but maybe something like playing dominoes, or hangman, or simple card games, just to work on his memory using letters and numbers.

Great thread.
I hunt here in France for red fox, roe deer and wild boar, both archery and rifle. We also hunt the migratory wood pigeons that come through the Pyrenees on their way to Spain. Hunting and trapping are big here. Last year I hunted geese and ducks in Sweden and Norway. It was...
Wow! Grossed out by that? I'm all for food handling hygiene, and not sneezing or coughing in other people's spaces, but also believe that many people are more susceptible to colds and flus, because they were under exposed to germs when they were growing up. All these bacterial killing...
If you say they are friendly neighbors, why wouldn't you call them or stop by and talk about it. Unless they are idiots, they know that you can hear it all day long. If you don't say anything, it will just fester until it is a bigger problem.
Don't let the first phone call or visit include...
I don't live in Texas, but chances are you'd have all the standard predators like raccoons, coyotes, weasels, skunks, neighbor's dogs, owls, etc. No matter what, you'll never "get rid of them", and when you build your coop, you'll have to build it so no matter what comes, it will be kept out...
I fry them and enjoy the "toughness" of the bird. Meat doesn't have to be tender every time you eat it. They are tasty and I gladly accept babty roosters from the neighbors. They are so small, they barely make enough for a meal for me, but I really do like them.

Go for it. It isn't said often enough, but with almost all these behavioral problems in school or public, the best question is, "... who is not parenting this child?" I doubt it will have much effect, but if it makes you feel better about your work, that's enough for me. There is a very...
Here in France, it is easy to buy, and in fact, in many grocery store parking lots there is a vending machine where you can buy it 24/7/365. Still, alot of cheese here is made with raw milk.
You never see anything on the TV about problems with it. I love the taste of it, but I don't drink much...
Think of the animal first, you second, the barn owner third and the girl last. I'd say BC would live a good life being tained and taken care of by someone who wants her.
Just my thoughts.

Aqua Eyes....This isn't an area for talking about chickens... is there a forum for attorney suing discussions"?
I wanted to sue one once who had represented me in a termite situation, but I let go of it.
I had an attorney come after me (via another attorney of course) over a retail...
I was young 40 years ago too. This is probably not a good discussion to continue... the accomplishents of Whitney Houston are worth alot of respect and praise, but not in the same ilk as deserves state and/or national flags at half mast.
I respect your opinion, but am sick of our country...
