I appear to have 1 bird that's laying a shell-less egg.
Only the outter membrane seems to be holding it together.
Unfortunately I have neither the time nor the energy to sit all day and find out who the culprit is.
I'm wonder if I could grab a random bird and re-insert the egg to get it to...
I have an Americana, she's well over two years old, and hasn't laid an egg in over a year.
She's not eating well, and is almost just feathers and bones.
I'm wondering if a nice hot bowl of chicken soup might bring her back around?
I have a a dozen BO's.
They have created three nests on the floor, away from their boxes.
The ladies want those eggs left alone, and they're more that happy to let you know about it.
When the count got to about 12 in each nest I figgered they'd get to work and start sitting.
The count is up...
...my head.
I made it through the front doors, and it then hit me why the woman I had earlier seen exiting with a similar pressure cooker had such a **** eating grin on her face.
Free! I was free at last, although I could feel I was still being watched as I placed myself and the stupid pot...
I had another rooster go Rogue on me.
He thought he was superfly or something, and tried to show me who was boss.
It took about ten minutes of chasing before I finally caught him.
I grabbed him by his feet, held him upside down, and paraded his butt around the coop for all his ladies to see.
I...
Preface:
I wasn’t going to do this one because I’ve written it so many times, but it’s been years. The original is still probably floating around the planet somewhere on a 4 1/2 inch floppy disc, written on an apple mac plus. This is a true story, the names have not been changed to protect...
I ended up with three roosters out of my last order.
One is huge (He's also the one I clonked with the popcorn bowl) He's quite handsome, but has been ostracized from the flock, he spends most of his day away from all the other birds.
The next one is pretty good sized too, but is very...
I found these at Amazon.
25 of them for $4.91.
Took about a month, but hey, slow boat from China.

I have a B/O rooster who is almost five months, and he's a BIG bird.
He's been ok, up until the last few days, when I think his hormone machine kicked in.
He's not sure what to do with his ladies yet, but he's certainly giving it a good try.
Today he tried to test the waters with me.
As I was...
For starters, the search engine here sucks dingo's kidneys.
I'm sure I'm not the only person here to ask why my egg yolks aren't very sturdy, but put "weak yolks" into the search, and you can find just about ANYTHING else, but.
Anyways, what do you birdheads got on yolks that break too easy...
My chicken love their scratch.
They also gobble up the mash.
If I put out mash dry, they kick and spread it all over the place, so I find they waste less if I serve it to them wet.
I'd love to leave food out for them all the time, but the waste would be astronomical.
I got to thinking this...
Are you running out of room at your ranch?
Do you hate spending hours cleaning up after your chickens?
Modern science has joined with Stupid Barking dog Productions™ to bring you Fort Joe Super Micro Mini Coops.
They require no electricity, and heating is unnecessary even in the coldest of...
Whenever I wear shorts or short sleeves, the chickens will attack any scabs they see, and pull them off when I'm not paying attention.
Blood thirsty peckers they are!
When I first moved the chicks to the coop, I gave them this little dog house for their coop.
They play all day inside the big coop, so I assumed they were sleeping there as well.
I've never had reason to check in on them at night, but decided to tonight for no reason.
When I didn't see any of...
Just added three new apartments for the new tenants.
Also added new balance beams.
Satellite TV, and the mini bar will go in sometime this weekend, or next week.
The paint crew is due at any time.
The place was newly carpeted with Bermuda grass shortly after the pics.
I should...
5 reds and an EE.
Everybody took a few weeks off this winter. An egg here or there, nothing like normal, which I know is expected.
All the reds have been laying daily now for weeks, but the EE hasn't pooped an egg in at least two or three.
How long do you let a freeloader hang out rent free?
