I am looking for some Welsummer chicks, pullets, hens or hatching eggs. I live near Birmingham, Alabama. Does anybody know of ANYONE that has them?

I had a Blue Copper Maran that started trying to crow at less than a month old. He is now 9 weeks old and an expert crower... He also developed his comb and wattles very early, but maybe the breed typically does that...not sure. I named him Big Comb...

It looks like Ameraucana, or one of it's parents is Ameraucana. If the previous owner said Maran, perhaps it is a cross, which would explain the beard. If so, it will be called an Olive Egger. But, I am no expert. I think it is a pullet.

So sorry you lost the two. Your best bet bet is to find one or three or more roughly the same age and the same color. They do not have to be B/Os but it would be better they were the same general shade of color especially if you introduce more than one. As with people, 3 is not really a good...

Try Claudia Gore allaboutdemchicks she lives in Shelby County....she has Delawares, Silkies, Orphingtons...that is all I can remember off the top of my head.
