No pond and in an area where I am pretty sure you can't have chickens. It is what it is. Life goes on. We needed to downsize and simplify. We are into Grand babies currently, so we need a low maintenance home and time to spare for the babies. :)

I am in the middle of a move. Oh my. And no chickens in site. But I have chicken memories to hold me over for a life time. First chance I get to have chickens again I will.

Last night I watered plants...
I trained my Mom's large Pomeranian to "co-exist" with my chickens. Kept her on a leash when walking among the flock and pulled her back if she would make aggressive move toward them. It clicked in for her when I added days old chicks. I called them babies and let her watch them in their box...
Sorry for your losses. My game camera never would pick up the different predators I had come around throughout the years. When I think of what could be out there I cringe. I was out watching the meteor shower at about 2 a.m. when I heard a sort of low growl. I think it only took me two seconds...
I lost my last two hen a week apart to a pesky hawk back in May. Since we were thinking about moving and I had a lot going on we decided not to get more chickens just yet.
