Ajax nodded. “As long as there is no flying involved, I should be fine for at least an hour.” He said truthfully.
Normally, he would be trying to cover up his weaknesses. But right now, he just wanted to sleep.
“I feel like me or my legs are going to pass out any second now. And like I could throw up if I had something in my system. So yeah, I think I’m sick as well. Either it’s by exhaustion or that rotten food that you somehow managed to find.” Ajax looked up from the water to Vel.
Ajax rolled his eyes slightly as he agonizingly walked over to the small body of water. He dipped his face in and swallowed the water down slowly. It felt so good and yet so bad at the same time.
Ajax awoke, the shock of the warm water making him stay awake. He growled loudly at Vel, furiously glaring as water and sweat dripped down his face.
He stood, still glaring. “Okay, I am not any more useless than you. It’s not like we’re going anywhere anytime soon. You see the transport, the...
Ajax could hear Vel laughing, although it sounded muffled. His throat burned, needing hydration, but he couldn’t convince himself to open his eyes and get up.
He moved one of his front talons slightly, a painful spasm in his body.

Ajax jumped awake at the sound of Vel yelling. He squinted, looking around, feeling confused. Where were they again? Why was he on such hard ground? Why did his muscles ache and his eyes keep sliding closed?
Trying so hard to keep himself conscious, he stood, groaning as his legs stretched out...
“Yeah, I’d rather not carry you all the way back to the Scorpion Den. I think the second plan may be more foolproof but it may be faster.” Ajax said, feeling unsure.
“Whatever you think would be better and a lesser chance of us dying.”
Ajax could feel his heart rate slow down as well as the anger.
“I’m not sure. It wouldn’t be smart to leave now with nowhere to go. Vel also isn’t the worst dragon to be around. I mean, sure, she can be annoying sometimes, but she saved your life, man.” He said, looking down at the sleeping...
“Of course I’ve thought about going back. But I’ve also thought about what would happen. It could cost us our lives either way. Do you know what would become of us if we came back without the hybrid and the human?” Ajax whisper-yelled. Anger was building up in his chest. He could feel it.
Ajax glanced over to the sleeping RainWing. She didn’t even say anything to us! Why is she such a frustrating dragoness?
He looked back up at Alicanto as he asked how far the Scorpion Den was. Suspicion crept into Ajax’s brain. “Why do you need to know?” He asked, clear distrust in his voice.
Ajax’s muscles were killing him. At least, that’s what it felt like.
When they landed near the cool body of water, he fell to the ground clumsily, sticking his face in the liquid. He swallowed as much as he could, the feeling soothing his healing mouth.
He plopped onto the hard dirt, feeling...
Her eyes burst open right as she awoke. Calla had just woken up from a nightmare. She regularly had bad dreams but this one was horrible.
Panting, her eyes darted around the filled transport. She saw the few dragons she recognized. This calmed her slightly. The LunarWing dragoness was speaking...
