I don't think I can keep her in the house. She doesn't want to be in here!! LOL And I don't have a crate or anything to contain her.
I'll try and feel around for an egg...never done it before...
Well.....she is drinking plenty of water and she ate an entire scrambled egg in no time! She's acting perky in the house and hasn't done the "puffy-sleepy" thing since I brought her in.
I did notice though, that her comb and her face were a little more pale than the other birds.
My intuition...
1) What type of bird , age and weight.
Australorp, almost 6 moths old, not sure of her weight but she doesn't look thin or anything.
2) What is the behavior, exactly.
She is puffed up and very sleepy.
3) How long has the bird been exhibiting symptoms?
Maybe 2 days
4) Is there any bleeding...
That's what I thought, but when I posted pics of her at a younger age people thought male because of the black markings on her neck. So, I've had my eye on her!
I got her through mypetchicken.com.
I've asked about this one a couple times before. But i'm still stumped. I would imagine it would be obvious if "she" was a boy by now, but i'm a newbie! Her body looks girlie to me. Sooo.....waddya say?? Boy or girl?!
19 weeks old last Monday.
I don't think the dogs will be a problem. I'm not quite sure why everyone is assuming that the dogs will be such a nuisance.
My chickens are WAY close to my neighbors house. Probably less than 20'. They're college guys and could probably care less. *shrugs*
Ya, I felt very fortunate to get an entire pallet of old fence boards for $35, a free door, two free windows, 2 huge old framed metal screens for $10, free metal roofing, and a great used dog kennel for a decent price. My father in law is a contractor and got his hands on some of this stuff from...
haha-thanks!
I should post a pic of that door knob. The hardware is gorgeous! The hinges match as well. So beautiful! Infact, when I got it I loved it so much I was hoping it would fit my bathroom door, but it was too small. My house is 109 years old and has a similar door for the bathroom...
We still need to add some of the cosmetic stuff, like the trim around the windows. Oh, and the nest boxes aren't done yet, so I guess technically, we're not accually done. LOL
Here it is!
