How cute. Congrats. I have been a little bummed about my scraPPY hatch. I am happy for my 2 cutie though. Would like to try again but not sure right now.
I checked this Am and both chicks were dead. Looks like one was positioned wrong and the other just never broke into the air cell. :(
At least I have 2 but I am still sad & disappointed.
Today is day 21. I did check them when I took out the baby this am but there was no internal pip yet. Did not see obvious movement but they looked jammed j there. Should I do anything tomorrow if nothing happens tonight? I placed them at night so I was considering the next day as day 1
So while I am waiting for something to happen I played with the chicks and took pics.
Grey one is Chief Chirpa (some Ewok the boys like--she chirps constantly and loudly too)
Partridge is Chewy--short for Chewbacca
Send pics of the cute little ones when they arrive.
I think I was spoiled with the other hatching 1 & 2 days early. These are the late ones. I just hope they are okay.
This is why you need a good relationship with the breeder you are using. Mine LOVES it when I tell her it is time to "trim" She wants to sell good quality fertile eggs.

That is funny. I plan to.let Liz know how the hatch went. She also said when it gets really hot the roosters are...
My 2 that hatched zipped about 10-12 hours after popping externally. They would cheep and then rest and then got a burst of energy and zipped. Check with everyone else but it does take them some time
You will see infertile a lot sometimes in Silkies. BUTT feathers need to be kept trimmed on both roos and hens or fertilization is lost. Catch my drift?
Fingers crossed for the final 2 :fl

That is what is hatching now. My shipped eggs were all clear or scrambled. I picked up 9 eggs. 6 fertile and 1 was a quitter. I have 2 left in the incubator, today is day 21
I think I have a blue and a splash. One that had a really difficult hatch died overnight-looked a little malformed but I...
2 little ones out tonight. Not sure but I think they are partridge. Peeping up a storm. My lonely chick will be happy to have friends in the morning. 2 eggs to go, hope they hatch too..
