I'm thinking that perhaps the chick was born like that or is affected by the shipment. I have a duckling that hatched a couple days ago and can't walk, i'm not sure if it's a disability or a injured leg. Sorry if I wasn't much help, I hope the chick gets better.

I don't wash my eggs. There is a covering around the egg which makes them last longer that washes off if you clean them. Although you might not like the idea of not washing the eggs after they come out of your hen, it does make the eggs last longer.
