    Yuck - There is a skunk in the yard.

    The dogs started going crazy so I went to open the back door to see if our son was home just to be knocked down by the fume of a stunk. We checked the coop and it was not there but the smell seemed to have managed to have made it's way inside.

    Looking for pictures of Leghorn/RIR mutts

    5 week olds refuse to roost

    We have 41 5 week old chicks and they will not stay on the roost at night. We go out and put them up and they jump back down. Finally we get tired of moving chicks and come back into the house. Any suggestions?

    Tabletop plucker had arrived. Tomorrow we will start processing.

    I know it is not a whizbang but it should do a better job then hand plucking. I will post pictures tomorrow. We have 39 cornishx roos and will process 5 to 10 tomorrow. stinkies off to freezer camp.

    New grandbaby

    The table top plucker would cost about the same as it would cost to build a whizbang. I recently saw one on ebay and was thinking about buying one. But as always I rely on the board for advise and answers.

    we have 39 cornish out on our pasture and they are horrid. i am thinking i would like to try freedom rangers next go round. to those of you who have had both what are the pros and cons? could i have the rangers in a coop at night and range through the day and not move a tractor everyday...
