Has anybody used this for a broody coop or to raise chicks in? It looks like it may be sort of tiny...http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005MXUSFM/ref=mp_s_a_1_40?qid=1426348811&sr=8-40&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70&keywords=rabbit+playpen#immersive-view_1426349006908
I am going crazy I have fly strips in the house but there are way more flies in my house than out by the animals. I am raising baby chicks in the laundry room, but they aren't even hanging around them. How do you get rid of flies in the house? I can't put up a stink trap and the fly strips...
How should you mt lion proof goats & poultry? Would a covered chainlink dog run do it? Or you'd need electric on top of that?
We are moving into a new place that is wooded and where they have mt lion...we have a 2 dog limit (rental) so no option of LGD...
Currently my plan is normal welded wire...
I found this egg laid by one of my ducks. Usually their eggs are ivory to super pale green...what would cause this??? I hope there isn't something wrong with one of my girls... http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b112/hgthurkow/1335133453.jpg
So my one dog who I believe has separation anxiety has escalated again...the dogs currently stay in our large laundry room with a dog door out to a chain link run with hot fence running along the bottom. (She broke several teeth on the kennel and successfully ate through chain link when we first...
I saw one reddish poo in the brooder this afternoon, but everyone looked happy. So I met my hubby for dinner, then came home to find our month old, only modern game girlie passed away. They are on medicated feed, but I've now read that isn't always enough. I'm getting sulmet, but I'm just so...
I have Mia, a 9yr old Pit x who I rescued at 1yr of age. She was used as a bait dog, starved/fed scraps, and left tied up until her collar grew into her skin. Amazingly with time and love she has turned out to be a great dog. In June my eldest dog, Ellie, passed away due to old age, but knowing...
So I have a 6' tall set of kennel panels which make up my run. They are attached to the chicken shed on one end. I need to build a roof over part of it so they will go outside even when it's precipitating...otherwise they spend all day in the coop while it's snowy or even if it's too sunny. Too...
This year we decided to get a RIR rooster to breed with our Delaware hens and make Red Sexlinks (just like Ideal Hatchery)...
And it worked!
The one with the blue dot on his head is a "silver" roo chick, and the 4 "red" ones in the center are the girls. (Pay no attention to the ones with...
So I've been setting each Friday for about 1 month in my sportsman. I had my humidity raised to about 65% since Tuesday when I stopped turning the ready eggs and put them in the bottom to hatch. I think everyone is now done hatching. So I have to move the next batch to the hatch tray on Tuesday...
Just wanted to post some pics of my first hatch of the year!
There are Buff Orps, Blue/Black/Splash Silkies, Black Frizzle Cochin Banties, RIRs and Black Sexlinks...
Day 21- Friday
There are 4 BOs completely out, started this AM around 10, and pips in a few eggs from each other kind!
I put...
I'd really like to order hatching eggs, but just for kicks...where can you get them at all, chicks or eggs?
(I know McMurray, but I would like some genetic variation...)
I found one of my banty girls trapped in between a board and the wall tonight. She is alive somehow. She feels cool to the touch so I brought her in next to the fire, and now on a heating pad. She is barely moving eyes shut and slumping over. I made sugar water, but she hasn't had the swallowing...
So last year was my first to have Calls lay...they started to lay in February then stopped in July or August. This year they are already laying! I already gathered for enough to send out! They are still laying! Should I expect them to keep laying through spring, or will this be my only chance to...
6 or more eggs, whatever I get by next Monday. They are laying nice sized eggs, since these are coming from my adult girls. Strange season, but lets take advantage of it!
I haven't checked fertility on these, but with this group last year it was awesome!
Can't get the pic to work, so go here...
