    I’m new to raising d’Anvers and have some three day old quail colored chicks. Can you determine their sex by down color? I’m thinking that the lighter color, especially around the head indicates a cockerel and the darker color indicates a pullet.

    Is it better to have two pair of bobwhites or one rooster and three hens per breeding pen? I've read that bobwhites are monogomous so I'm confused.     Brooding Chicken & Quail Chicks Together

    I know you can hatch quail and chicken eggs together in the same incubator no problem, but can you keep the together in the same brooder after they hatch? I'm afraid the larger chicken chicks might kill the quail chicks even though they will about the same age.
