need some help with pickled quail egg recipes

which vacum sealer do you guys use?
I'm assuming this is the best place to post this thread since i'm trying to use the darn thing to seal up my meat birds for the freezer.... bright yellow fatty deposit?

Even though i didn't technically have them in the same area, some of the younger chickens were able to fit through my fence (or they flew over). Anyway, when my garage door was open they'd come inside and eat the food that the quail managed to flip onto the floor. I never saw one of them on... -

So, most of my experience has been with coturnix, but i got some tn reds about 1 1/2 months ago. They WERE in the garage outta the elements until last week when i put them outside (hoping that exposure to pre-winter conditions followed by a return to the garage will get them to lay this year)... -
artificial light for coturnix
Does anyone here use artificial light for their quail? I recently (week ago) added two lights to each of my cages for a (very little) bit of warmth, but mostly to keep the eggs coming all winter long. This works very well with my chickens, but my quail got all confused for a day or two... -
