Roo attacking for first time- my legs

I went to pick up eggs like I do every day. I have a small group of two OEGB hens and one OEGB roo. As I reached for the egg, the roo attacked my legs! Although these birds were not completely hand-raised, I have held them and they have always been friendly. The roo is now 22 weeks old- is...

Letting hen lay eggs and sit on them - Question!

I have two hens and one rooster, all OEGBs. I have had to roo separated because he is about 7 months younger than the hens, but am planning to let him out with them this weekend. My question is whether I can just let him out and then let the hens lay their eggs and see what happens if they...

    3 Month-Old OEGB Roo Question!

I still have my 3-month old OEGB roo (named Rhoda- thought he was a she- LOL) separated from the two hens, which are 10 months old and great layers. I was told that even though there is a size difference, it would be okay to now let him into the main coop with the two girls (also OEGBs). Is...

    Bantam breed- are these Saramas?

Two hens, the brownish-gold one just started laying and the white one hasn't started yet. Not sure of age and more importantly BREED. I studied the "breeds" section of byc.com and Sarama is the closest I can find. What do you think? Thank you!! Any advice is extremely helpful.

Skin issue on one foot- picture. Help please.

My 18-week old Gold Star Roo, Fendi, has these dry/weird spots on one foot. I think this is the best shot I can get. It seems dry, should I just try to put some vaseline on it? I don't know if it will get worse but it has been there for a few weeks and has not seemed to worsen yet. Thanks in...

New Coop- Almost finished. Need advice.

The new coop is based on shelves which were already there- the main space is covered with corruged plastic but the extended space is going to be covered by chicken wire only. There is a door so that I can get in to clean it. Right now, there is some hay in there as that is what I was using...

Identification- they say it's a Japanese breed- does that help?

[/img] She is 6 weeks old and is eating medicated right now. Will switch to growing feed in a week or two. I don't know what her diet was before she wandered into my yard. She is very friendly and just so extremely cute. When they say she is a Japanese breed does that mean a Bantam? Will...
