Hi all!!
I would love if people who own any breed of LGD to help give tips and info to us newbies (me) to the breed.
I know there are several people here who own LGDs but I am having trouble finding specific posts so, after sending a few PMs, I decided it might be best to start a general...
My friend has a few baby ducklings (from my flock) and one is having leg issues.
My flock is fed fresh veggies and fruits, they are fed a waterfowel feed and can free range so the starting flock is pretty darn healthy....
The babies are being fed a waterfowel feed, she is also supplimenting...
What would you say is a good/fair price to set on a Roo you do not want/need, But would like for it not to be sent to freezer camp right away?
I have someone inquiring about a Roo that I will not be keeping...the new owner's intent is to possibly use it as a breeding roo.
It is a hatchery...

The one with the darker head has smaller legs, a bit less color and a lot less waddles...but the feather coloring is making me think it is also a Cockerel.

Thanks
AND...what the heck are they?
They come from Townline Hatchery.
When I contacted them (sent pictures) this is what I got back.

My friend is having family health issues so she asked me to take her very small flock of ducks for her because they were being naughty in her absence.
I have 10 of my own (one being a drake) and I took on her 4 (one also being a drake)
These ducks were raised together (born last June), so...
I could not help myself, they were the last ones at Rual King so I had to take them home.
They are straight run Assorted Bantam.
Anyone have an idea what breed they are?
The mostly red one does not have the eye stripe. The other 2 do, but they are both slightly different colored, but have...
I have been searching this site for DAYS and have yet to find what will work for us.
I want to make a Auto watering system that has "nipples" along the beginning part of the system and a Cup style water at the end of the line.
I want to install this so the ducks AND chickens can have...
I know, I know, we are guessing here but it is fun to see what people think.
These are supposed to be Araucana pullets.
3 of them; one that is very yellow, now that is slight brown with a light brown strip down the back and one that is dark brown with a darker brown strip down the back

I have been going back and forth about the breed (Toulouse or Sebbies)
I am pretty sure I want to get Toulouse...... because of temperament and hardiness
I need some advice about ordering from Holderread, I...
While I was in the barn getting hay for the horses something attacked my duck.
It happened within 10-15 minutes, that is how long it took me to get back outside to find my duck on his back with a patch of skin peeled away from his chest, and then found a hunk of feathers pulled from his tail...

I have 4 adults that are an established flock
I also have 10 babies (born around June 20th) that are their own "flock".
I have both flocks separated and would LOVE to get them all in one flock soon. But with the adults, I have 2 males and 2 females. The females (one in particular) are...
I could hear my adult ducks calling to each other from inside my house, so I had to go out to video it!
This one is the big female calling to the little female (I call her little momma)
