    Duck can't stand

I wanted to let everyone that the duck is walking again. I put her on Purina Flock Raiser and just kept throwing her in the pond for excercise and cleaning and she evidentually came back. She is 1/2 the size of the other ducks and I think that is because she didn't have as much access to...

    Goose, infertile eggs, & adoption?

Okay, thanks Pop, that is good to know. The feedstores are sold out for the season, so I will have to look on Craigslist. I have 15 Ancona ducklings coming in two weeks and thought MAYBE the goose would like to be a giant babysitter for them.

    Goose, infertile eggs, & adoption?

Thanks for the input. My questions have been put to rest so to speak. Something grabbed my goose and made off with her early this AM. I candled the eggs and they were all clear Double :( Now I am not sure what to do w/ the remaining goose. It doesn't seem to interested in the ducklings.

    Goose, infertile eggs, & adoption?

Good morning, I have a pair of "mutt" geese and got them as 'toddlers'. There are very similiar in coloring and I can barely see a difference in physical traits other than one has a squared tail and one has more of a pointy tail, but not 100% sure if that is consistant. I have never seen...

Incubator "malfunction" - did I lost my eggs?

My apologies if this answer is somewhere in the forum, I just don't have time to search. After losing 24 eggs to a power outage I started again with duck eggs on 2.14. I added turkey eggs on 2.26.12. This morning, stupid me accidently unplugged the incubator and when I got home (8 hours...

    Muscovy ducks good guardians?

http://www.feathersite.com/Poultry/Geese/BRKGeese.html Your biggest threat in the city will be dogs. Not knowing your set up, make sure you have an excellent fence and places for your ducks/chickens to hide. Check with city code to see if Geese are allowed and check with your neighbors to...

Do ducks get lice when with infested chickens?

Hi, Here is an article on lice. Fortuneatley they are species specific. http://extension.entm.purdue.edu/publichealth/insects/louse.html However, there are "feather" lice and therefore whatever has a feather can get the lice. I would provide a dust bath of DE to help reduce the...
