Both of my chickens are 5 months 11 days old but the one BR is bigger, has a larger comb and is starting to be aggressive towards the other chickens. This pic is the potential "roo"....

My Barred Rocks starting laying about a month ago and tonight I did not make it out to the coop to get the eggs until after dark. The temps are below freezing and the eggs feel frozen to me. Will they still be ok?
Edited to add: The temp is about 30...maybe the egg is just really cold and it...
Made a few changes over the past month or so:
Removed the roosting bench and added a roosting ladder.
Raised the nesting boxes and added a slanted roof so they couldn't roost on it.
Added a tin roof on top of the painted plywood roof.
I am in the process of painting the batten I added...

Yes, SHE, Shellie was referring to the large goat fencing and chicken wire. My dog would tear that apart in 15 minutes flat. Plus, there's no netting on top. We've got loads of hawks here...

I had the nesting boxes on 5" runners and a roost pole that they never seemed to use. They started sleeping in the nesting boxes along with pooping in them.
So...I raised the nesting boxes onto posts, put on a slanted roof so they could not roost on them, and built a roosting ladder out of 2"...

I've had them for over a month and the behavior just started.
I wore shoes into the coop today and they didn't peck me...I guess my toes look like worms.
