HI everyone
Ive never experienced Silkies before. We just received this Silkie yesterday evening from a show-breeder whom gave it away, due to it being the reject/ugly duckling.
Anyhow, residing in Sydney, Australia. We cannot keep roosters in suburban residential areas.

i think this is untrue....
ive only got 2 hens....and they can eat all day...obviously a mixture of things.

hi guys
a quick question....
ive read in a few books before about providing chicken with small stones for them to eat.
which apparently is a MUST, due to them not having teeth, so this in turn helps them grind the food down.
to be honest i dont think my chickens actually need it? as in, my...

it isn't the largest area ...and i know that chickens love to explore.
i am hardly home & my house doesn't have many fences, so i have to keep them in there pretty much 95% of the day.
i hear chickens can be very miserable if confined.

Hi guys
i was always under the impression that the warmer the weather is, the more frequent the chickens lay.
which seemed true, becuase in winter...they lay alot less than they do now.
but up until the past 3 days.....we have had ROASTING scorchers....
and NO eggs from BOTH hens...... the...

hi guys
i just noticed a dropping that was moving.....then i realised 4 wiggling worms in a dihorea looking dropping. I'm not sure which hen out of the 2.
so Ive just added some worming solution in their water

2 hens ive got....

the older one a New Hampshire Red, has never caused me headaches, never escapes.... she lets me pick her up. lets me stroke her. and nearly to the point she seems obedient, very very friendly but at times slightly nervous with sudden movements...
hi guys, just a question i thought id ask...
because ive dusted m,y hens with poultyr dust and it still dust baths...
