    Guinea eggs

Anyone have pics of guinea eggs? I found 2 eggs today, along the fence line to my duck run, and I think they may be from my guinea. I thought they were supposed to hide their nests and be sneaky-lol not this one!

I've actually seen that one but it doesn't list guineas so I wasn't sure what the best size would be for them.

What to feed 8 weeks old ducks?

Ducks can be on chick starter/grower at that age (mine's a 15% protein crumble). Once they are closer to laying age they can just go to a regular layer pellet or crumble. Waterfowl food is hard to find in some areas, and pekins are big eaters in my experience!

    Banding Hens

A lot of you recommend banding your females. At what age and what size band do you use so that it is not to small and does not need replaced so often?

    Guinea in the chicken coop!

The problem is there isn't enough room in the chicken coop for 16 guineas and the chickens can't fly out to get into the guinea pen like the guineas can. I'm concerned the guineas will kick the chickens out and the chickens won't have anywhere to go!

    Guinea in the chicken coop!

Ok my lonely female guinea has taken to sleeping with the chickens (every night on her own!) All is well and fine right? For now! Whats happens when the 15 keets move outside with her? Will she take them into the chicken coop or will they convince her to stay in the guinea pen at night? They...

Mean male guinea...will it get better?

Thanks everyone I was really worried. I was trying to catch my female to tend to the toes the male had bitten but luckily she got on my chicken coop netting and I was able to spray them with blukote. I wasn't sure if they were like chickens at night or not-good to know!

Mean male guinea...will it get better?

Oh no you guys are worrying me! I have 15 keets coming at the end of July. Are they normally aggressive? I can't have them attacking people! I had a male and female and they were great, the male would come running when you called and other than that they avoided people and animals. After...

help...My guinea bit his wifes toe!

Thanks! Thats what my plan was but I didn;t know if u could grab guineas the same as chickens (while roosting). It almost looks as if her toes are broken, one is pushed next to the other instead of spread apart! I have to catch him TODAY and get him out, she can't even stand!

help...My guinea bit his wifes toe!

I've seen my male bite the females toes twice. She spent the entire day lying in the shade (unusual for them) and he just bit it again! She is limping horribly and stands with her one foot tucked up. They are really hard to catch so I can't see if there is significant damage. Why would he do...

    Mallard Molt

Thanks guys! I really think that both mallards and the pekin are females they all are super load quackers. The black swedish is def a female, and my blue is def a male. He is very raspy and never loud! I always second guess myself and couldn't believe 3 out of 3 would be females!

    Mallard Molt

Ugh! 16 weeks I don't think I can wait that long! They both quack very loud, when do their voices change to raspy if their males or do they start out like that? Monarc23-I surprisingly know where robinson is (we had to deliver a mower there awhile back)!

    What is sweet PDZ?

I used it with my ducks while they were in the brooder (Iused stall dry). I don't need it with my adult ducks because somehow someway their pen stays fairly dry even with the pool! I still use it with my horses, guinea pigs, and chickens though.
