Our cats are excellent with the chickens, we've never had problems. One of them actually lives with the chickens, sleeps in the nest boxes etc. But I have heard of people who have had problems with cats and their birds.
I have a thread here where I post updates on my flocks. I just did a post on my Cochin bantams, so you can check out the colours I have if you'd like :)

I currently have 20 chickens of laying age (probably from 8 months to 1 year). And a whole lot of baby chicks from 1-3 weeks of age (haven't counted those )
Here is a Frizzle Polish bantam rooster I had around a year ago. I had to sell him due to space issues (one of my biggest regrets). He was such a character, I loved his funky personality and hairdo.
I recently contacted the person who bought him, and ordered a pair of his chicks. Hopefully...
That's the unfortunate thing about free ranging. Not many people are able to do it due to predators. We are fortunate to live in an area where there are many trees to shelter the chickens, and we also own a flock of geese. They are like our chicken guard dogs ;)
Time to introduce my flocks of Cochin Bantams. I currently have a flock of Wheaten and a flock of Silver Partridge (both frizzle and straight). I plan on adding a few more colours in the near future. I'm breeding and selling them at the moment, but they are also my pets. Because I can't live...
@Yorkshire Coop I absolutely adore your frizzles! Always had a soft spot for polish bantams too ;) Are those ones in the first, second and fourth photos Gold Laced? They are gorgeous :love
I have always believed that free ranging is the best option for chickens. It's their natural environment, they can dust bathe/forage and obviously they love it.
I currently have separate coops and large runs for my chickens, and each breed gets a chance to free range in an even larger enclosed...
I normally only close my chickens in for a few days before I let them out. Of course, the longer the better, so a week is best, but I think they should know by now where 'home' is. Although, I would suggest just 2 more days if possible ;)
Because I absolutely love frizzles, I decided to create a thread where we can post photos of our frizzly chooks. To start things off, here are a couple of photos of my Wheaten Cochin Bantam frizzles, as well as my Polish frizzle rooster.
Now let's see yours! :caf
