Bad pic, but they...
My oldest and dominant hen, Shelly is suddenly being bullied. I have 9 hens in a very large ( 27 foot x 9 foot) run and a large coop. They are always fed, get treats, and lots of water. The 1 year old Barred rocks (2 of them) that I have are now bullying her. For the past 3 days, she hides in...
Free 23 week old Silkie Roo. He is a nice bird -he just needs more of a flock and since mine is so small (he's in with 3 young pullets), he is getting a little rough with one of them. He does let you hold him and doesn't chase you or attck you. He such a cute little guy. We love him dearly, and...
My silkie Roo is trying to mate with my 20 week Buff Orpington. He doesn't seem to bother any of the other girls. My question is: since they girls are not laying yet, is he even getting anywhere, and will he seriously hurt her? I have seen him trying to mate with her, but she tries to get away...
I have a 202week old Silkie Roo free to good home. His name is Peep and he is healthy. I need to rehome him asap. Please consider giving him a good home if you have other silkies or are just looking for a very cool chicken! I am in Anne Arundel County, MD and I can deliver him within a 25 mile...
Went out to feed and give fresh water to the chicks and decided to show off the new coop -
My hubby finished my "new to me" Little Tikes playhouse coop. Got the coop for free and spent about 35.00 in hardware cloth, plywood, 2x3's and hinges. Used Plexiglas for the windows and also used...
Finally moving my babies outside today so they can see my big girls
Hopefully I can integrate in a week or so. I still have my Blue Silkie Roo (not show quality- 4 toes on one foot, 5 on the other) if anyone wants him. He's a nice boy and he's 8 weeks old. I'm in MD (A.A County).
Wish me luck!!
My silkie roo(?) was crowing at 4 weeks old and did that for about a week. Now I don't hear anything except peeping. It's been a week now and no crowing. Is this normal?? Could he be a she?? I know it seems funny, but I'm just concerned.
7 week old Silkie Roo for sale. Very sweet. Started crowing at 4 weeks! Would love to keep him, but we can't. I'm in Anne Arundel County and could deliver within 25 miles. I am also willing to trade for a 5-6 week old female (any breed). Thanks!
If I decide to keep my little Silkie Roo, will he be ok with 7 hens? I have 2 Golden Comets and an EE that are 1 1/2 years old, and 2 Welsummers and a BO that are 3 weeks old. He's 5 weeks old and I was thinking of getting rid of him, but the more he's here the more I want to keep him. Also...

Thank you

I finally found some! I bought mine at Anne Arundel County Farmers Co-op. It was $29.99 for a 50lb. bag. It's made by Southern States. I hope this helps everyone!
UPDATE - seems the people at the AA county co-op think that their DE is food grade and it's not. I had to take mine back today...
I had to seperate one of my hens this afternoon. I came home to find her pecking the heck out of the other three girls. They just turned 7 weeks old yesterday and all of them have been so sweet up until now. The one who is doing the pecking is a Golden Comet and she is really favoring the tail...
