UPDATE: the coop has been fortified so well that I think even an inch worm would have trouble getting in! The chickens are unhappy with it but are safer. I put their grain in the coop, and ive stopped letting them outside by day. I don't have the time to watch them. Thanks for the help!

thank you for the help you guys, I did search and it is most definitely a fisher. I'm going to fix up my coop and close my chickens inside the coop at night. Thank you. You probably just saved ten chicken lives.The pictures posted also told me.

A while ago one of my silkies got caught up in a net and her toe got really tangled. I had to cut it out. She ha dno injuries that bled but her toe was crooked, and when I set her down, she waddled a bit. She also has trouble perching, and even fell once. She slowly is learning to deal with it...

I have several different perches, old fence posts sanded down and stuck in corners, like you said. I cut down a small, maybe five foot tall pine tree, and kept it in a corner with a perch, and they love(and I do mean, LOVE) that. There water dish is near this.
