I hope not! Ideal was being difficult. I ordered 3 weeks ago... I just got eggs, and not from them. I am putting 3 eggs under her tommorow, and 3 in my incubator. Will she sit on them? Or will she quit?
I know it's supposed to be higher. I have the temperature at 100.0 exactly and the humidity is at 45.5%
What should the temperature be for a still air?
Ideal let me down... bad. My broody has been broody for 2 weeks (and false broody for a week, also the week I purchased the eggs), and they have changed the order once already, so (on the day they were supposed to ship ) charged me more, and now, being shipped tuesday, haven't come, and I...
Someone told me 40-50% humidity on the first 18 days, and 60-70% the last 3.
This place says 55% to 60% the first 18 days, and 70% the last 3-4 days.

And for my random question: When the eggs come in the mail, I wait like 24 hours...
I've tried about 3 times, by putting her in a nest in a cage, with her golf ball, but she refuses, but will be happily broody in her nesting box, outside the cage... Do I have to move her at night?
My broody went broody on tuesday, she went fake broody on friday, I bought eggs on sunday, and the eggs are coming this tuesday.
So she will be broody for a week or more, will this affect her broody-ness?
Will she stop after 2 weeks?
Do I put them right under her, or do I wait 24 hours like I...
I ordered eggs aproximately 3 days after my broody went broody. a few hours after I ordered, look who was off the nest. Since then she hasn't been broody, she still screams and puffs up, but that's only the hour or so she takes to lay her egg. I'm still getting broody poo's though... :sh
So...
I got eggs for my broody, but my broody isn't broody anymore  . I made my own incubator with a thick tupperware container, a light bulb, metal netted cup, and a dimmer. I have 2 thermometers in there. I do not have a wire floor - do I need to? What temperature should the incubator be at all...
My Fajita has been broody once before. At the time, I broke her by forcing her outside in the rain. This time, I want to have her hatch eggs, and she gets of the nest. It is so weird. She slept on top of the nesting boxes yesterday, and not on the nest. But she screams, and tucks eggs under her...
my coop is lined with a tarp, on top of the tarp are very heavy tiles, covering the coop. on top of that, is sand. something has been digging UP out of the ground, and it is not something trying to dig into the coop. well, pretty much the edges of each wall (on the ground) is decaying since...
Out of my EE, a Marans/BR, and my banty cochin, my banty cochin Fajita takes the cake. She lays every single day. I got the 3 breeds for a variety of eggs, but my egg cartons just look like small cream colored eggs, with the occasional blue or brown egg.
So, which breed of yours lays the most...
I ordered a cuckoo marans from mypetchicken. Here, they told me she was in fact, a BR, because of her bright yellow legs. Now, I got her first 2 eggs, and I really can't tell if they are a #3 or a #4 on the chart. Would she be a marans, if in fact, her eggs were a #4, even if her legs are...
Got my first egg from my "cuckoo marans" I got from mypetchicken. Brown. Darker than our current eggs, but not marans brown in any way, shape, or form. The bright yellow lgs were a give away. What I think is cool is that she turned 24 weeks today. It was smaller than my banties egg. I took some...
I know I shouldn't be excited, But I was. I was then really really worried, since my mom (we were gonna go on a walk) pointed out that he was bleeding. We saw that his paw was underneath the little step part, where the animal steps on it, and the trap closes. I was so freaked out, I called the...
OK. I am really thankful of the loud noises, the specific bawking and staring, when a cat is in the yard (I then chase it off) but the honking, yes honking, when several little birds are in the yard?
When free ranging do your chickens eat dog poo? MINE DOO(doo)!
It's really disquisting IMO. It's like a viscious cycle. My dog eats their poo, they eat his. I would clean it up, (I usually do) but it rained and rained so each dog poo is a puddle the size of a pancake. Anywho. My banty cochin...
