You’ll be fine! I find there’s a lot of “rules” having to do with both hatching and raising chickens, but ultimately it depends on who you talk to. Just try to relax.
I’ve been fermenting my chickens’ feed. I started a new batch 2 days ago, and today it has some kind of weird-looking fungusy stuff on the top. Has anyone had this, and what is it? I don’t want to feed it to my birds if it’s something nasty.
Sweet success!
I found the information I needed on the incubator itself and found a universal power cord on Amazon. It came the following day. Incubator is up and running!
Hovabator people said it would ship FedEx and would come in two weeks. Chicken poop on that, especially with that awful...
The one from Hovabator costs $18 plus $15 shipping. I'm not going to pay that ridiculous shipping fee. I'd like to find something compatible, but I need to know the specifications.
Thanks for your reply.

I have the above that came without the power supply.
2360 - Power Supply for 12V Hova-Bators
Can anyone send a photo of what it says on it so I can determine the 12 volt amperage and the polarity of the connector?
I've saved up eggs I wanted to hatch, but now they're going nowhere. :(
That dude to the left is "Taco." He's the farm's badass and a local legend. He'll try to outsmart you so he can do his kamikaze act and inflict bodily harm and infinite misery. Him and my dachshund have a running feud through the wire.
To his credit, he's a stunningly beautiful bird!

I've been very ill since March of this year. The doctors have been scratching their heads, but we think we've found out the cause, which is toxicity from a medication I've been on for 20 years.
One of the secondary effects, according to them, is histoplasmosis, a disease caught from chicken...
I wish it was! The others quit molting quite awhile ago. It also would be easier if they were being pecked by the others. I’ve had to separate some for that reason as well. Normally the area getting picked on, in my experience, is one rather small area resulting in a red lesion because of blood...
Several of my chickens, and in several months, have been afflicted with bare skin on their necks. It doesn’t appear on other parts of their bodies, nor is it limited to either sex. The outer layer of the skin thickens and turns bright orange. After some time it can be removed without hurting...
It's been on my mind for a year to post what happened last summer.
I'm in East Texas, where it was no surprise that summer brought debilitating heat and brutal humidity. It never caught my mind that those exact conditions were perfect for egg hatching.
There were a number of fertile eggs...
I've little by little started to name my coops. So far I have "The Henterprise" and "Fowl Play." (There's quite a few to go.)
Is there anyone else who does this? What names do you have?
