    Marble in crop?

I think my hen has a marble in her crop. She's acting pretty normal, although she went to bed tonight with her crop less full than I would like. She hasn't laid an egg in three days and ran away from me when I went to pick her up, which isn't normal for her--she's quite affectionate. Any thoughts?

    Undigested grain in poo

I have a 16 week old Crested Cream Legbar pullet who is passing a lot of undigested grain in her poop. She has had a rough few weeks when I discovered she had worms. She has since been wormed and the entire flock is currently being treated for coccidia after finding bloody poo on the roost from...

Bringing chicks in to existing flock

Hi! I have three 18 month old hens. I'm considering introducing two 6 week old Cream Legbar pullets into the flock. I believe my hens were vaccinated for Marek's. The new pullets are not. Should I be concerned with combining vaccinated and unvaccinated?

    Sour crop

I have hen who I believe has sour crop. Her crop was very squishy tonight. My husband and I made her vomit and a bunch of fluid came out, some feed, some bugs, but it didn't smell particularly bad. Anyhow, gave her some yogurt, and she has apple cider vinegar in her water. What else should I do...

    Worms?

Sorry for the gross picture but I just found this poop. Might that be a worm? If so, what should I treat with? I do have one hen that's been laying soft eggs and I already treated for coccidia.

    Bleeding on neck. Maybe molting?

So, sometime in the last two hours my little red hen that is molting started to bleed a bit on the underside of her neck. I'm not really sure what happened, but it doesn't appear that she is bleeding badly or there are any cuts or gouges. I have separated her from the others and put her in the...

    Pecking? Or something else?

This BSL is about a year old and acting totally normal. I noticed yesterday that she is missing some feathers on the right side of her neck. The skin is not inflamed or red and most of the feathers have been completely pulled. I believe she is at the top of the pecking order. Do you think this...

    Yew berries

Who has hens that eat yew berries? Mine have eaten a few and thankfully have been fine. I'm diligent about picking the berries up, but sometimes they fall when the ladies are free ranging. I'm just curious what experience people have.

    Closed eye?

Hi there. I have a 7 month old black sex linked hen that is keeping her right eye shut. Acting normal otherwise. No sneezing, swelling, discharge. Laid an egg this afternoon. Her comb might be slightly paler than normal. Any thoughts?

    Newbie with a sick hen

Hi, there. I'm new to raising chickens and I have a sick hen. I got my hens from an acquaintance two and a half weeks ago--two gold sex linked and two black. A week ago one passed overnight, with really no symptoms other than she went to bed a bit early. I put Immune Boost in their water...
