Please take a look at this poo. It's bright orange and red and she hasn't eaten any fruit today. Should I be concerned? It felt like intestinal lining but I can't account for the orange. 1) Buff Orpington 8 months old 2) Orange and red poo. Tried to lay an egg three times today and hasn't...

I took my 5 month old RIR to the vet yesterday. The vet said she most likely has fowl cholera. We have her on some antibiotics (Clavamox) and anti-immflamatory meds but the doc said that her chances of survival are only 20% She already was on a round of sulfa antibiotics but they didn't help...

My Experience with Dry Fowl Pox

I wanted to relay my experience with dry fowl pox because it was a bit stressful for a newby chicken owner. I didn't even know about the disease and when I saw the first small dark scab on my 5 month old, I thought it was dried blood from a peck mark. Others on this forum seemed to think so as...

My chicken Berry- along with the whole flock has dry pox. I've been putting antibiotic ointment on them for about a week. The scabs are looking better. However Berry has developed a sneeze and it sounds like a gurgling sore throat and she breathes through her mouth and I can see her throat...

    Dry pox with sneezing

Hello: My favorite chicken Berry who is a Rhode Island Red (5 months old) has dry pox like the rest of my 5 hens. She's had it for about 5 days but today I noticed she was sneezing/coughing. I was out with them for a few hours and she sneezes about every 10-15 minutes. When she drinks water...

    Normal legs??

My Easter Egger's legs has these whitish spots. I can't tell if I'm paranoid and these spots were always there or if she started getting these. Also all my chicks are fighting the fowl pox right now. They are about 5-6 months old.

Is this fowl pox? Please look at these photos

I originally thought that it was a pecking thing but now all my 4 month olds have little spots on their combs and faces. The original bird has gotten worse as well. Can someone look at these photos?

Black spots on comb: possibly spreading...?

I took a few photos of my Easter Egger a few days ago. She had one black spot that I thought was a dried blood mark. But today I noticed she had a few more smaller spots here and there. What could it be?

    Normal Poo?

I've been reading so much about chicken diseases like coccidiosis and such that it's making me paranoid. Can someone take a look at these poos and tell me if these are normal? I have three 4 month olds that I raised as chicks and 2 older ones that I brought on 2 weeks ago. I started noticing...

    Pecking order or aggressive breed?

I have 3 chicks that are 4 weeks old- RIR, Buff Orp, and a Cucko Maran. I watch them a lot cuz they are so cute and I like to see how they interact. In the past few days, the Maran has started lurching at the other two, picking at their feathers, pecking their beaks, and generally bothering...
