Just about twenty minutes ago, my male call duck was chasing me around the yard, biting at my ankles behind me. I had never stepped on anything, but I think he might've hit his leg on a cinder block in my backyard. About a meter away I stopped to see him lifting one leg. I got worried, and...

I have a female Buff Orpington duck and she has laid 21 eggs. I don't have an incubator, should I let her incubate or buy one? I check on them in the morning and they are a little cold, but they get warmer throughout the day. I don't see her sit on them during the day. I think she incubates them...
Introduce them by putting them both in a pool of water by themselves. They should be flirty for a bit, such as bobbing heads together. If the male begins to bite the female and chase her around and bob his head, your in luck! :)

I have a female buff duck laying now. She laid her first egg out of the spring season! I got her and set her by her nest to see if she was going to incubate it. She just looked at it and walked away! We have a male call duck x pekin and i have never seen him mate her before, but nibble her neck...
My duckling did the same thing. What I figured out that, as weird as it sounds, his bill was shedding. Small pieces of skin would fall off and he would start itching again. Give him some lukewarm water and he should be good!
Here are some tips to raising ducks:
In my duck pen I dug a small line around my pen and lined it with plywood to keep predators out. Also for cleaning, Use timothy hay or straw for bedding. Once it gets too dirty with poop, remove all of the hay in the pen and replace with fresh hay/straw...
Let em eat it all up! My ducks love foraging for worms, snails, slugs, and sometimes frogs :sick . Chickens rip through vegetables and pull out roots while ducks seem to do the better trick and be a bit more gentle. Watch out for the shells on snails, though.
