Speaking of kittens, we just rescued a momma stay and 3 kittens yesterday lol. So now we have 8 cats and 38 chickens haha. The cats are mostly afraid of the birds
We've gone and looked for the last rooster every day since we caught the rest. The food hasn't been touched or the water. So we're assuming the worst. It's too bad since he was absolutely beautiful. I'm attaching a picture of his equally beautiful brother.
Weird thing is someone...
We went back at night and caught 4 more. We now have 17 out 18 of them. Only one left is a beautiful roo that was roosting pretty high in a tree. I almost got him and he flipped out flying deeper in the woods
It's frustrating since all they had to do was ask. We can definitely care for them until we can rehome any extra roos. To us they are pets, frustrating pets at times, but still pets we care a lot for.
We're leaving them alone for an hour to calm down. Hopefully they'll come back out and make their way towards the food and water we left.
Funny thing is our place can't be seen from the road at all. There would be no way for someone just passing to know we have birds. We're have one...
Definitely a messed up thing to do. It's 90 degrees out and they dropped them off in a box with some food only. Once we catch them we're going to suddenly go from 21 birds to 38.
The 6 we caught are happy in the smaller coop, but there are at least 3 roosters out there. We already have roosters so we're not sure what we'll do if/ when we catch them. They're all beautiful birds
