    Toulouse Geese Thread

Someone is giving me a young breeding trio in a week or so. I built a house inside the barn with a pop door out onto the goat pasture. The goats chased a few chickens who wandered into the goat yard and Im nervous if this is gonna work. It would be PERFECT if geese and goats got along well as...

Thanks for the good reply Iain! Ill have to caution the kids about being in the goat yard until we get the new additions settled. We are being given a breeding trio..about 2 years old Im told. The pasture is beautiful deep grass about 4 months of the year and slim pickin's the rest. There is...

Another goose fence that did not work for me!

Now THAT I can do! Ill just make a sorta "nursery" yard. Good idea with those goats anyway so they dont smash babies! Im certain mama will be on guard for that! Ok I feel better about this. Do they grow at a pretty speedy rate? I have chickens and turkey to compare them to. :)...

Newbie stuff: I understand this breed is pretty mild mannered. Do you all agree? (In general of course) Do you think it will take long for adults to adjust to a new home? Do you think they will get along ok with goats? Do you use your geese for meat of eggs or? Do I need to get em a baby...

    Getting geese...house size?

I have 7 goats with a nice barn and pasture. I think it would be cool to let them range together. I plan to build a goose "house" inside the goat barn so they are relatively unmolested. A friend is giving me a trio of Tolluse adults. I have a few questions: #1 HOW will the geese (I never got...

Im also good with my chickens and will have my first turkeys in April. I am also happy to hear some of you house them together as I am building a second coop specifically for the turkeys but need more hens as my current flock is aging and really too large to put any more birds in the current...

Do you sell your turkeys for Thanksgiving?

Thanks for these helpful responses. Do you house them separate from other poultry? I know about blackhead and I also hear everyone say they have never had trouble with that. My concern is pen size, do they pick on other birds etc.

Do you sell your turkeys for Thanksgiving?

Im considering the Narragansett Turkey ...another question...are the toms nasty and can you let them free range with the other birds. They would house with them too.

Do you sell your turkeys for Thanksgiving?

Ok so if I order 15 poults in the spring...and want to pre sell them for Thanksgiving....how much do you charge people for the birds and do you butcher it for them?
