I currently have a broody hen who has been sitting on eggs for about two weeks. Should I let the hen raise them herself after they hatch or should I take care of them.
I have six hens and one rooster(who is very nice). Just for extra info.
I just got my 13 chicks today. All of them seem fine except for this one golden sebright. It just seemed to sleep most of the day. I've seen it drink water a couple of times, but I haven't seen it eat any food yet. Just wondering what I can do to help it or what's wrong with it.
I've ordered 4 golden sebright st. run, 3 rir pullets, 3 buff orp pullets and 4 EE's 3 pullets 1 roo. I ordered them from ideal, they're supposed to come on 5/7/08. I just wanted to know some of the qualities about these breeds.
Thank You
I have a broody rhode island red hen and right now she's sitting on unfertilized eggs. I'm getting her fertilized eggs but I don't know how to approach her with getting the old ones out and new ones in.
Hey guys I just wanted to ask something. This weekend I'm going to an instructional seminar about chickens at a local feedstore. I was wondering If I should bring some of those save a chick postcards to give to the other people that come.
Have your chickens ever eaten styrofoam because one day we took some styrofoam out of the house and put it on the deck. Then my chickens started eating it like madmen. I guess chickens like styrofoam.
One day I was surfing the web and I found this video. Go to wegmanscruelty.com and click on see thye video. It can be sad but I think you guys should see it.

I have decided that I need a new coop, my other one is worn down and a bit raggedy. So my new coop that I need a design for would need to accomodate 7 chickens. If there's a link you have with a materials list and a design that would be very helpful...
