Parts List:
1. 8 bottle wine cooler.(any size will work).
2. Bi-Metal thermostat...
I only had pickling salt on hand so that's what I used.My hygros (two) are both reading 66% they have been in the bag about 18 hours and have held steady for several hours. I know different salts release humidity at different rates could the discrepancy be from the salt? Should I assume the both...
Now before everyone say's you can't get Sex-Link in 2nd generation,I know this I was just wondering if anyone had bred a Red Sex-Link over Red Sex-Link, and if so what kind of egg production did you get? And what was the egg quality?
When I was young my mother bought 6 bantam hens that closely resemble Porcelain d'Uccle but were pure white and layed a pale green egg. It would seem they were some sort of cross but they all looked so much alike I think it would have to be an intentional cross any ideas what that cross could be?
I was looking through some chicken breed lithographs from 1899 and seen this breed, Silver-grey Pausbackchen I can't find any info on it sooooo... is it extinct?
I thought I would start another Arizona thread since I've noticed that the other one moves so fast that many legitimate questions aren't able to be answered before getting buried.
My chicks are 3 1/2 months old now and a couple of the pullets are starting to get really red faces. An RSL which isn't unheard of for them to lay at 16 weeks, but I also have a New Hampshire that is getting a really red face and waddles are coming in quickly. I also have 4 cockerels in the pen...

My Black Minorca's are 11 days old +/- a day and today I can see the difference between the cockerel and the two pullets. I'm really excited because that means I can spend a little more time with him so maybe he will be a good friendly roo.
I have had my chicks for just over a week now. I have 27 asst. breeds and I'll watch them for a half hour straight and I don't see any dominate chicks yet. How old do they get before they figure the pecking order? I always thought it happened within a couple of days?
