Here are the birds I have for sale. I'd like 20$ for each hen. They are 1yr old free range/organic and lay everyday. There are 7 hens. 3 americana, 1 Brahma, 1 Cochin, 1 Cuckoo Maran, and a Road Island Red. Feel free to ask questions! Pick up only. I live in Watson, LA about 10 miles north of...
I just picked up this chick from a breeder and didn't notice it has some welts on it. It has them on its rump and one on it's neck? Is this an injury or could it be contagious!!!
I just want to know if there is anything obviously wrong with these two partridge silkie hens. I got them from a feed store a little over a year ago so they should be pretty well feathered out. What do the experts think? Tell me whats wrong with these girls!!
I recently lost my only silkie rooster and am looking to replace him. I'd like a tame partridge silkie rooster if possible. Quality is important as I'd like to breed him for show. I have 4 silkie girls waiting for a new man! My chickens are all organic, free range and they much loved.
Here are 2 and 3 days old oegb/silkie mixes. The partridge coloring seems to be dominant. Daddy is a tiny oegb and the mother was a buff silkie and possibly a partridge silkie. 2 of the 3 chicks have 5 silkie toes, but all have feathers running to their outside toe.
I am asking because this stupid incubator won't keep the humidity...I had to help 2 silkie chicks hatch yesterday, and they are fine. However, I didn't intervene soon enough on one and it was dead in the egg. I have 8 eggs in the incubator now, and they aren't making much progress at all, and I...
I am wondering how much it costs to ship a full grown silkie bantam because I'd like to find one to replace the one I lost. If shipping is too high I will just look locally.
Alright, my brinsea mini eco bator stopped working and we tested the power supply and that seemed to be the problem, so I ordered a new power supply. Now I can't seem to get my incubator to reach 100 degrees. Anyone know anything about bator mechanics? I can get it just above 95 degrees.
Okay the problem I have is this... one of my incubators died and so I put those eggs into another incubator that was started a day after mine were... so their lock down days are a day apart. Today my first batch need to go under lock down. Should I wait a day for lockdown, or put all the eggs on...
I am guessing he must have gotten in a spat with my main rooster. I took him out of the pen, bathed and blow dried him, and popped the airsac. Now I have him inside in a brooder box. Oh, he is also having very watery poop. Should I get him some antibiotics? What should I do?
I am hatching my first batch of eggs, and my husband says he read that touching the eggs can kill them. I have to touch them because I have to turn them several times a day. What precautions need I take?
I had been watching the temp very closely on a borrowed incubator all day before we put the eggs in. Then that evening my husband wasn't satisfied with the 99 temp, and turned the adjuster... when he woke up the bator was at 102 degrees... would that have killed all the eggs? They could have...
