    Getting Goat kids

My goats barely use the area we have. They are free range...well yesterday they were bad so they got locked up..they are eating our 20+ year old pine trees that are supposed to block wind. Ugh. Chris was very mad. It’s been an ongoing issue. But he refuses to put any fencing around...

Ok, the back, where there is the tarp Ed area...is she jumping on top of there and then getting over? How high is all the fencing now? Is it sturdy enough, or does it give enough for her to jump and it give away to her weight? If that’s the case, she might get hurt in in one day. I have...

    Getting Goat kids

Oh geez, alfalfa pellets are a staple for my goats!! I can’t really get the hay around here, so I use the pellets as a replacement. They love them. When starting a new feed..go slowly. Gives the rumen time to adjust. But I typically give my goats pellets plus grain through the winter. Then...

You rake up the goat poop? How small is their pen? Ok...my goat pen is VERY large. But...they also free range for mos5 of the days. They are really only in the pen when we are gone for a long while. They are trained not to go beyond the Pine trees...so, they have several acres tha5 they...

    Getting Goat kids

No...they are small enough to not be a problem. When they go in the barn..yes, that needs cleaned, but not outside. Chris woke me up a few days ago telling me he thinks we could live off the farm for at least a year...with our huge garden, and animals, eggs, goat milk, etc. I said...we’re not...

    Getting Goat kids

Oh my gosh...downsizing goats?? How many does she have? I’m actually thinking of getting another one if I can find an alpine in the area for a good price. They are good milk producers. I get more than a gallon from Busty a day. I’d like to have more than one that produces that much since...
