I got my first Buckeye egg yesterday after the long winter dry spell!

No eggs from mine either!

Pathfinders and 2-3 years old

We have five buckeye hens and we get between 3 and 5 large eggs/day. Haven't butchered any of them yet.

I have some Buckeye girls that I put in with an unfamiliar rooster (they've seen him, but not been with him). They had been broody and are no longer broody. How long before they start laying again? It's already been a couple of weeks, so I'm thinking they should start soon...hoping anyway.

For someone who has never been to a show, what does the "CH" stand for?

These birds are all the same age, but some of them look like they are questionable, like they haven't decided if they are a pullet or a cockerel...these birds are approx 6 months old. One of my cockerels A pullet and ? Another of ? Why do some of them have that lone long tail feather...

I received 16 chicks from Laura back in May and didn't have any DOA!

Just got 16 chicks from Pathfinders today! The wife called and let me know they were in, that they are all doing well and are very noisey!!

My daughter went on eggbid.com and won 20 buckeye chicks from bigredfeather for me yesterday...whoohooo!

Three hatched and no more pips, but today is day 22, so will wait a little longer...pics will come later!

Two pips this morning and heard one cheeping!!!

Just went into lockdown with 9 buckeye eggs (including 2 possible clears) and tossed 5 definite clears...

Kathy, congrats on the hatch! Soccer Mom, I understand. I started reading this thread and decided to get some buckeye eggs and it's all their fault! I hate to say it, but this has truly become an obsession! LOL

Ok, I know I read somewhere about Buckeye eggs taking longer to hatch, but when incubating do you still go into lockdown on day 18?
