It's good forever as long as you stir and refresh. I'm surprised they don't go for it. I have hatched about 30 chicks in the past month and they go for it big time. Put a little new feed and water in it every few days to keep it refreshed--and stir (I stir 3x day).

It still amazes me some just don't get the simplicity of fermented feed.
I started with 2 of those 2 gallon glass jars too. They worked well but I'm also feeding meaties so I moved to a bucket that sits in large hinged-lid resin wicker patio bin in the run--I love it outside. It can make quite a mess!
