Heatherlynn- Resist the "retail therapy" as best you can. if all else fails try to just window shop at a thrift store.. sometimes just looking, filling a basket and then walking away will give the same feeling as actual spending. Good luck, from someone without any insurance for the past 4...

read thru the thread as you have time, there are many great ideas including making your own laundry detergent(which ends up costing about $.02 per load) go paperless (use towels and washcloths instead of papertowels and napkins- some of us even ditched tp!) good luck!

add some salt for extra scrubbing, and citric acid helps (2 tsp per cup of mixed powder) also. the vinegar is essential It works great. Just remember not to use too much or you get the powdery residue left on glasses.

Domino that's fantastic! Thanks! For zucchini over abundance.. I recently saw zuch jam at an Amish store, haven't tried it but it sounds worth the adventure just to say you did it. Can't be all bad, I mean we love zucchini bread! I have shredded/frozen several of mine to save for just that...

don't forget you can freeze all that garden produce if you're not into canning it. or for things like summer squash that just get too mushy to can.. also peaches and tomatos can go in the freezer in zipper bags "as is" poaching is optional. when they thaw the skins just come right off.
