He is solid white.
They seem to be breeding a lot. We just moved and have a huge barn with 6 acres. I only got 10 eggs from our goose last year, so I'm worried this will be it for the season. I'm building a big house for the adults by the pond so she may quit laying eggs for awhile after the...
I have three males and two females and the huge gander is the youngest male and not allowed to breed but he really is pretty! I think he's only 10 months old or so and is scared of everything lol. His head seems not as rounded on top as well. I'm setting the four eggs tomorrow so hopefully they...
My geese started laying eggs already!! We have four eggs so far! The ganders are not nice right now! One of the ganders is HUGE. His feathers are beautiful, and he is from a Sebastopol breeder, but I'm just surprised at his size. Is this normal? He is probably twice the size of the females.
I bought four eggs and this is the only one that hatched from that batch. The person had different flocks and the auction said it could be from any of the pens. I might try emailing her. It doesn't really matter I was just curious :)
Here is the gosling with the hunch back that I have. It eats and drinks and seems normal now except for its back. I don't know what to do with it. It is growing slower than the other three too. :(
I have a lot of blue chickens, and its the same color, is there a way to tell grey apart? The person I bought the egg from had blue geese, so I figured it was.
Sounds like you will have a good sized flock soon! That is great! I bought my first as 10 month olds and they were not friendly. Now they are, but not to the point that they will let me hold them.
Thanks. No, unless it was the older sebbie gosling. I've kept them separated after he bit them. There was no blood or marks. I will pick up some antibiotics and see if it helps.
One of my goslings is having trouble. She took awhile to hatch and was all swollen and took a week before she looked like the other three that hatched with her. Now they are starting to get feathers and getting huge. Last week I noticed it sounded liked she had water in her lungs and now has a...
new babies! number four is still in the incubator. It came out of a really big, calcified egg. Just acts like it has no energy but its only been out a few hours so hopefully it'll make it.
I am pretty sure I have two boys and a girl.... The one doesn't breed or lay eggs just stays with the male and helps him guard the female. It's smaller than the one I KNOW is a male so I was hoping it would end up being a girl. Oh well. They are pretty anyways :). They are a year this month.
I sold mine for $40 each, but I bought my geese a few months ago and know nothing about the bloodlines ect. I just wanted to find good homes for them. Giving the rest to a friend of mine. I think $60 is about normal?
Wow! That's awesome! Hope you get some babies! Or A baby is more likely from two eggs, but you never know! My male was pretty mean until he got used to me. Now he just hisses a little and gets really loud if i get near his girlfriend thats sitting on eggs. They aren't nearly as tall as Canadian...
