Where did you get your Hampbars/Hambars? You could use your rooster and cross him with dark/mahogany RIR to recreate a Rhodebar line of your own. They would probably end up being more pure than some out there...
Breeding the pullets back to the Rhodebar parent roo would be the "fastest" way to produce more Rhodebars... if that's his only goal.
That was my point, to correct faults breeding F1 to F1 would be better, or even outcrossing again to RIR... but I don't know the goal of his project.
Just keep the pullet, you don't need the cockerel. Breed the pullet back to her father and continue your project from there.
Do you only have the pair? I would keep hatching more eggs in hopes of more pullets to use.
Technically speaking, you can have auto-sexing offspring after as little as 2 generations.
Rhodebar X Rhode Island Reds = F1, single factor barred cockerels and pullets.
Cull the single factor barred cockerels from this breeding and then breed the single factor barred pullets back to their...
I'd say you're probably correct, but I'd keep track of who you think is a cockerel and who you think is a pullet by banding them or by raising them in separate brooders until you have an answer for sure. Good luck! Please keep us updated!

Seems like there had to have been some crossbreeding somewhere...
If you're happy though, that's what counts. A green egg laying autosexing bird doesn't sound too terrible either.
That actually makes me think of a breed I read about not too long ago They were a Welsummer X Legbar I think...
My thoughts exactly... cross the F1 pullets back to their father to ensure that you have at least a few more pure Rhodebars running around. You might be breeding some faults, but hopefully the RIR mother will have passed some good traits onto her daughters that would hopefully then be passed on...
When breeding a Rhodebar male to RIR hens to produce more Rhodebars, why would you cross their offspring together (F1 X F1)?
I know that you will get a percentage of pure Rhodebar chicks from that mating but wouldn't it make more sense/be easier and faster to cross one of the F1 females back to...
Good to know, I had hoped he was a pure Rhodebar, a double factor barred bird that dark in color would be just gorgeous IMO.
I really like the shape of that rooster, that to me what Rhodebar breeders should strive for.
I like your Hampbars too. Researching auto sexing breeds online I've also...
