    Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

No! I wasn't saying anything about your post...just stating that I didn't think I was being unreasonable! No worries. UPDATE: I did get an email today = should have my eggs by the middle of Jan, which I'm ok with. I will wait to hatch the other ones after those are done

I don't think I'm being unreasonable - just give me an approximate timeframe so i can plan hatches! I have people wanting me to hatch for them...

    Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

GRRR - I need to vent for a second. I ordered some hatching eggs (Tolbunt polish) for my new incubator from a reputable breeder. I understand that they might not be laying much now & that's ok. But I've emailed 2 times trying to get an estimate on when to expect shipping with no response. I've...

    Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

I just answered your PM...but that's almost exactly the set up for my coop - 30 ft away & I bought a 40 ft hose (because 30 ft hose is hard to find). There is a valve that refills the fountain as needed when the water level dips, so even though the water hose is "on", water consumption is very...

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my chicken fountain! Definitely get the winter kit as well, since...well...it's winter! Since I "winterized" my fountain i've had no issues. Assembly is very minimal - it consists of inserting & gluing 1 pipe & lining up pre-drawn dots. The glue is included. You screw on the...

Well, just when I was starting to wonder if Belle was really a late blooming roo or not... SHE LAID AN EGG TODAY!!! So now all of my girls have laid an egg. Not at the same time, but they are all confirmed layers. I do have some bittersweet news to report - Poppy (GLW) has been re-homed to...

    Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

Slightly, sort of off subject...but not really I am a cub scout den leader & we are heading into pinewood derby time! We just did a workshop today where we had some of the adults really into wood working, bring in their band saws & cut out the rough forms for our cars. I am going to...

    Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

I'm not at home during the day, so catching her while she lays is impossible for me :( BUT yesterday she laid in the box!!! Hopefully she is catching on! Now my CCL hasn't laid in 2 days, but the one that I think is laying doesn't show signs of being egg bound or anything, so hopefully it is...

My 1 other one that is laying, lays in the nest box & I do have golf balls out. They have been laying for less than a week - very new layers!

    Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

Advice time - My BCM is insisting on laying her egg in the middle of the day, in the middle of the run. She won't go back into the coop to use the nest box. How can I teach her that's where I want her to lay her egg??

    Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

I do give additional probiotics, because fermenting adds more pre-biotics, some pre-biotics but more yeast & micronutrients (the good kind) but not all of the bacteria that the gut needs to fight off infection and be healthy. Adding an additional few strains of probiotics with it, even...

    Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

They are out in their run all day, but it's not a real "free range" situation - like they aren't running around the yard. They have a fenced in run that they play in during light hours from 7 am - 8:30 pm every day. I ferment their feed; give sprouts; give a flock block with backstrap molasses...

    Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

I haven't been able to get any good pics of my girls in a long time...but I'm getting a decent DSLR for Christmas! So that will change!! Today's egg haul: 2 new eggs. I definitely have 1 CCL and my black copper marans laying. I'm expecting my other CCL and one of my Polish hens to start laying...

    Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

I have a blue orp & a buff orp. My blue orp (Flora) is a BIG girl...HUGE! She is one of the top girls...mostly because she can sit on you & crush you. She's so laid back and docile though and the only issues that have ever come about (pecks) are over food. My buff orp (Doc McCluckins) is a...

    Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

I would describe it as blue-green. There is a green tint to it, but there definitely is blue in it as well. The flash/photo doesn't do it justice. No matter what (blue/green) I think it's a beautiful shade of EGG!!!!
