Quote: Let me try to reword that. I have a crele rooster and no crele hens. I am wanting to produce more creles. What colored hens should I put with him? Thanks Black, that way they won't add any other colors to what he has to offer. You should hatch blacks, barreds, and creles, along with...

franciscreek, it looks like some type of infection, there are so many that affect the eyes! I hope it's nothing too serious and he's just gotten hurt, but honestly it does look like a disease of some sort. Especially with all the swelling.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I will not be moving the end of this month as planned. However, I will be moving, I will just have to wait until after the school year is over for my son. He and I were supposed to be staying with a friend while I looked for and got a job and an apartment...

Quote: Silkied is recessive, so if both parents are silkied then all the chicks will be as well. The parents have to have 2 genes for silkied to express it, one from the mother and one from the father. Since they both have 2 genes they will both pass the gene on to each of their offspring...

Something like this froggie? The one on his left shoulder was supposed to be in his hands but had better ideas. The one on his right hand is perching on his finger like a parrot. The other 2 stayed where they were put, I figured if one wanted one shoulder then the other could sit there too

Quote: Which boxes? I assume the box with the 2 black girls and mottled boy had one. If so, I'd bet anything it's from the bigger of the 2 black hens. She was in a pen with just her and the black male that big-b got, so you might want to hatch that one! The other egg was probably in the box...

I've never had birds take less than 2 days, though only once have they taken 3 days (to WV from KY---guess they are trucked the whole trip there ). I would expect all the birds I sent to arrive tomorrow morning, but they've got plenty to 'eat' so they should be fine. But it's still nerve-wracking!

Nail biting time! Of course none of the birds I sent out yesterday have arrived, though most were 'guaranteed' by tomorrow (a few for today). They should have plenty to 'eat' and 'drink' for their journeys, but it is still nerve-wracking! big-b, you better take good care of my baby boy! I love...

Hey guys, I listed 4 more serama auctions. All of them are pairs, though 2 are listed as hens since the boys are pretty big. These aren't my birds, I'm selling them for a friend.

I don't know what to do now, I have reduced my flock so much that I have to empty feed pans back into the barrel at the end of the day. Used to be, I'd have to go out and put MORE feed in the pans in the afternoon...I don't know how to NOT have too many

I don't believe it is desirable, but it is common. The standards for yellow-legged birds say 'red on the legs/feet is acceptable'. So if it's acceptable, it is not desirable.
