Maybe the rats spooked her too much and broke her broodiness. She may go back to broody in a few days, but you'll have to help with the eggs for now. Maybe you can leave some ping pong balls in the nest for her and give her the eggs again if she goes broody again....

Oh, I agree then that you better leave the eggs and not put them in the incubator. Sorry. If she wasn't setting tight yet, they may still work if she goes back. No way that I know of to make her want to set. Just try to keep everything calm around the coop. Nervous hens don't want to brood. Can you maybe get a picture of the coop and this hens nesting space for us?

she pushed the egg out and may have ate the other . Don't think rats took it but you could still have snakes out down there . you best be looking for snake sign . Do you know what to look for . snakes don't leave a lot of sign . best you can hope for is something that looks like a garden hose has been dragged along the ground .also a snake's hole will be smooth from it going in and out the hole rodent holes will be rough around the edges .
