The cat ate my chicks!

He got into the brooder, and ate my two very special chicks that hatched last night and I stayed up all night watching them!

I cant believe it!! I actually cried, because this is the SECOND time this has happened.

Whos cat has done the same??

Edited because my grammar can not save my life

Oh no, that's awful!

Since this is the second time he's done that, I don't think I'd risk incubating any more eggs until you can find a way to keep him separated from the incubator and a way of securing it.

Sorry you lost your chicks.

I'd shoot the cat.... but that's just me... I lost a chick, to a barn cat, who snuck into our house, through 3 doors, and killed a silkie chick just for the fun of it right in front of my husband before he could be stopped.

The cat is lucky to be alive... ^.^ If he managed to do it a second time, he wouldn't be.

(I have 3 indoor cats, who wouldn't dream of trying to kill our baby chicks.)

Well, they were in the brooder without the lid..i was going to change it at 10:30. I swore the cat was not inside the house.....then next minute i catch him gobbling up the rest of the chick. Horrible.

OMG! I'd get rid of the cat or stop having chicks until you have a more secure set up. So very sorry, that's just HORRIBLE!

I do have a more secure setup, they weren't in it at the time. In fact he even tipped the incubator over this morning to get to them. I've sprayed water at him when he goes near the incubator iv'e tried everything! I dont know what to do..

I stayed up most of the night watching them zip and hatch. I cant believe this cat.

Hes a family cat....but he has a very wild side. Sorry about the loss of the silkie chick...

I dont know why he keeps trying to get my birds. He knows hes not aloud...he snuck away when he grabbed the chicks. If you see in my Signature theres a album "Little lone chick" It was soon found that the cat got that chick as well.

Im at loss really..

If you want chicks, the cat has to go. :(

The cat was just acting like a cat...the cat isn't going to change it's nature, it's up to the human in charge to change their own actions.

The first time it happened should have been a learning experience to the human. The second time it happened, it was negligence by the human.
