    Beautiful…..hybrid?

Hello all- I was given this chicken as a baby and was told she would be a welsummer , clearly that is not the case. All of the other spring chicks have doubled & tripled in size and even the bantams are larger. She is so pretty and very friendly, but I would love to know if anyone knows what...

My pekin x silkie comb is red/orange is it a male?

Hello, my pekin cross silkie is around 20 days old. I bought him/her from a straoght run and noticed its comb turning orange/red. He/she is really calm and isn't noisy and likes being held but can be quite skittish at times, does this mean it's a cockerel?

    Overheated?

It is currently about 60 degrees and sunny where I am. I brought my almost 5 week old chicks out to play and a few of them were laying like this in the sun. I assumed they were overheated and brought them to a shaded area, but I’m not entirely sure. They’re doing fine now. Thoughts?

    Feed lifting ideas? Lol.

Okay… so I’m experimenting with different things to see if the chicks can spill out the feed. I tried an old brick from my garage. Thoughts?

    DIY chick brooder

Not sure this is the right category for this but I wanted to share our DIY brooder! The property we own looked like a hippy commune dump ground when we bought it. There was random junk everywhere and a little 2 room A-frame cabin that needs A LOT of TLC so ignore the mess and the graffiti on the...
