Hello,

Figured I'd start a little thread here as I grow my flock. I warn you though this will have ducks too. I will begin by welcoming my newest additions. I just got in some Belefielder, Welsummers, Andalusian, a silver wyandotte and a mystery chick courtesy of the hatchery. In the duck brooder, I have Indian Runners, Call ducks, Welsh Harlequins and some Dutch hookbills. As time goes on I will move them to the larger brooder pen outside.

Not pictured here are my Golden Sebrights (4) and my three easter eggers. I will post photos of them here as well in the future but I believe I have a few on this site already.

You really have quite an array of poultry -- including my favorite duck breed (runners!).

Thanks for sharing photos of your sweet littles!

I really wanted to start out with a variety. When I first started raising poultry I didn't get much of a choice in what I raised. This is actually my first time with runners. I didnt realize they'd be so hard to identify when they werent standing straight up.

Ah, but the good news is that they will be Much Easier to identify as they grow up. I love their odd gait -- and their mostly unsuccessful attempts to fly. I once had a runner hen who could get about four feet above the ground, but only for about two seconds!

Letting the girls out for a little bit to eat some of the fresh cut grass. Didn't snag a picture of George.

These are my older hens, Lola, Fred, and George.

They are all colored egg layers I got from Tractor supply.

Been busy the past two weeks. The ducks are getting bigger faster than I can finish up the coop. My phone is full of ducklings mostly but I got a few of the chicks here and there. My named chick/duckling list is growing.

Huey, Dewey, and Louie the call ducks in that order.

Wynnie the Wyandotte is getting bigger. A week older than the others she may be moved outside sooner than later, she's been teaching the others how to get out of the brooder.

Meet Fred. She is a hen, I couldn't tell her apart from her sister George for the longest time and they were ginger-like so the name stuck. Fred is now lighter in color than her sister and the friendliest.

My Andalusians are starting to show their color and soon I hope to be asking for gender identification. I will be splitting the remaining 11 up with my parents once they are ready to move outside to the coops. So far about 5 of them are showing the blue quality so I hope one of them is my roo.

This is Huey, I know its too soon to tell but compared to the other two, she doesn't seem to be getting darker pigments in her feathers and I suspect a hen.
