    Can quail use this waterer?

Hey everyone! Will coturnix quail be able to use this waterer? Alternatively can anyone suggest something I can use that will hold enough water that it won't need refilling every day for around 10 quail? Thanks in advance!

How high should I put this?

My chickens are used to the gravity feeder waterers and I bought one of these (see attachment). I have it in the coop which they are still getting used to. I'm not sure how high to hang it. I haven't seen them use it so I'm not sure if its high enough. I think I have it about maybe 18 inches...

    Has anyone used this waterer?

Curious if anyone can show me, with pictures/videos, how they set up this style of water trough? I just got 4 of them and I’d love to get it up and working the most efficient way possible. Can’t wait to hear from you! 😃 I found the 3rd picture online, but I’m not a fan of the way it is set up -...

How to keep waterers from leaking over the edge?

This seems like an odd question but I wonder if I’m doing something wrong. Every waterer that I’ve tried leaks over the edge. Is there something I could do to prevent so much water from coming out into the tray at one time?

Is it bad to put apple cider vinegar in a chrome waterer?

Every once in a while I add some vinegar to their water, but that's nit the main topic. I use a chrome bowl as their waterer, but I've read before that apple cider vinegar rusts metal. Though, my bowl is chrome, not metal. My question is if it'll still rust the metal.

  7. An Outdoor Shelter For the Feeder and Waterer

An Outdoor Shelter For the Feeder and Waterer

I don't like to keep the feeder and waterer in my Little Monitor Coop, which is only 4'x4'. They take up valuable space, are awkward to fill, and are prone to be knocked over when the chickens are pushing and shoving to get to them. Since the current run is unroofed, being 100 feet of electric...

teaching them how to use new waterer

So I just moved my six 1/2 week old chicks into their coop which has one of those bucket waterers with the chicken nipples on it. They’re still getting used to the coop and they haven’t gone near their food or the water yet. It’s a new waterer for them. I tried poking the nipples to show them...

How high off the ground for the waterer?

I am using horizontal poultry nipples. I don’t have chickens yet and this will be my first block. Does it matter how high off the ground those poultry nipples are? I’ve read a lot of different recommendations online, and I don’t know which will be best.

My pigeons are pooping in their water

Hi! I have two Birmingham Rollers in a small loft. I plan on making a bigger loft soon, but that's a different story! I am new to pigeons, I have had these two only a month or two. And I have a small problem. I am currently using a chick waterer that I used to use for my chickens. But my loft...

    New Chicken Mom

Hi everyone! My husband and I are new chicken parents and realize we have a lot to learn! We got our chickens via mail order and received them at 4 days old. Tiny babies! We ordered 15 "Easter Eggers" and the company sent 19 because, to my understanding, some do not make the long journey so...

Wry neck and risk for drowning

My 2 week old Silkie chick has wry neck and I’ve separated her from the main brooder. I put in a water feeder along with her food, but her lack of balance due to wry neck has led her to fall into the water tray. She cant always get herself out so I decided the risk for drowning was too high...

    Feed and water and hanging.

Just curious. How do you hang the feeder/water in the run? What should I use? I have a large dog kennel around the coop so i want to know what will work safely? In a way that it's easy to get at night when they're done eating. Also any toy recommendations that chickens love. I've tried the...
