This is my 6 week old Welsummer cockerel. His name use to be Chicken Little, lol, but as he is getting older, and quite a bit bigger than his fellow 6 week old roommates, I changed his name to Spartacus. I have known since he was probably a week old that he wasn't looking like a pullet... By 2...
I purchased a mixed flock of chicks from TSC on April 1, at which point they should have been no less than 4 days old (but possibly older??).
My two "sexed Welsummer Pullets" are developing at vastly different rates and in another thread many thought the more developed Irma might be a roo. But...
I have pullet and a cockerel...that I originally thought were Welsummers...but the consensus has been that they are Prob a my Production Reds.
I believe the pullet is definitely Production Red but I think the cockerel may be something else.
What do you think?
Pullet
Got these cuties yesterday at a local feed that had a huge line out the door. The lady gave them to me so fast I just had to go home and research who is who. Here’s the list of breeds I got. Help me match the correct chick breed.

Are these babies Welsummers or something else? They are 4 weeks and 1 day old. If you need a different angle photo just let me know.

When we got them, the lady quickly told us their breeds, but I've...
Hi forum - I hope you all can help!
I have four chicks that I got all on the same day. They should have all been day-old chicks, especially because I went to the feed store the same day they received their new delivery of chicks. 3 of the 4 started out the same size, with 1 of the 4 (the gray...
I'm looking to add two new chickens to my flock. I currently have two Golden laced Wyandotte a little over a year old and one Isa brown about 7 months. I was thinking about adding a Buff orphington and possibly a speckeled susuex, Americauna, Araucauna or Welsummer. What would be a docile...

Hello, I am running a medium scale small farm pastured egg operation. My goal is to make my chicken breeding hobby sustainable through egg sales. These are the breeds I want to work with: Welsummer, Isbar, Ameraucana, and Bielefelder. I've read all I can find on them on the internet, however I...
Hello,
I just need some help with a hen that I suspect is broody. She's an 9 month old Welsummer. She becomes very aggressive and puffs up when I try to get to the nesting box and she will do nothing but sit on the eggs all day. I think she may have gone broody around 3 weeks ago but we were...
Hi community. Thanks in advance for your help.
In my flock of 7 hens, my two 17 month old Welsummer hens hard molted all summer long and had just begun laying again in late November when they both stopped laying again. They seem to be losing feathers again and their combs have grayed out again...
So I currently have a Welsummer and a Cuckoo Maran (both from a hatchery) who recently have started laying. From what I have read both should lay dark brown eggs. According to the hatchery I got them from “Marans lay the darkest eggs of any breed“ and Welsummer are know for “the production of...
